Hi everyone! Sorry it has taken me so long to update, it's been a super busy week. Backyard Bible Club was in full swing for our church. It is basically our equivelant of VBS, but since we are such a large church we spread it out to reach the greater Austin area. Church members host groups right in their front yards, and invite neighborhood children and friends to participate. I co-hosted one last year, but with Miss Priss I decided to just take Reagan to a nearby group in the evenings. The theme this year was super heroes...sooo perfect for Reagan. He was by far the youngest in the group, but that didn't stop him. He was right there with the big kids, he had such a great time. The leaders are all kids from the youth group who train for this. Each day was a new super hero, with the lessons ending in Jesus being the "SuperOne". They would yell, "Who is your champion?" and the children would respond with "Jesus, the SuperOne!" (or ShuperOne in Reagan's case hehe). After each lesson they had a designated leader who stayed to the side to answer any questions, or pray with them if they felt led. Last night during the club I glanced over and saw Reagan talking with the leader. After he left to go play with the others I asked her what he asked so I could talk with him about anything if needed. She said he wanted to do the prayer to ask Jesus into his heart with his Mom. I wanted to cry! So, when we got home last night we talked about it. Asked him if he knew what it all meant. I didn't think he really REALLY got it at first, but what he knows is the pure and simple truth. God loves him so much that He sent Jesus to die for him. He knows that his debts are paid by Jesus, and with Jesus in his heart he will go to Heaven. The details of it all confuse him, so I thought he wasn't ready. But then I thought, I am 26 (ok, so almost 27) and still can't wrap my brain around such glory and love. I don't deserve it, but He gives it. Last night my son reminded me just how simple it really is. God loves US...period. Reagan said a prayer last night that made me thankful and proud. He made God and Jesus his champion! Apparently it doesn't keep him from misbehaving. hehe. Who is your champion???
